Consilium welcomes Optio’s Woodward as Chief Claims Officer

Consilium, the global specialty re/insurance broking business of the Aventum Group, has announced the appointment of Nick Woodward as Chief Claims Officer (CCO).

consilium-logoWoodward, an ACII-qualified re/insurance lawyer, is recognised as a multi-class and jurisdictional claims specialist with close to three decades of experience in the legal and claims sectors.

He will leverage his expertise in technical, operational, and performance management across Lloyd’s, the London Market, and MGA businesses, to lead Consilium’s dedicated claims advocacy team, driving a market-leading approach to claims management.

The executive will be supported by a nine-strong claims team, ensuring clients benefit from expert guidance and strategic claims solutions.

Woodward will also collaborate closely with Duncan Childs, Head of Technical Claims and Coverage at Consilium, a qualified lawyer with two decades of experience in insurance contract law and claims advocacy.

Woodward is joining Consilium from Optio, where he served as Claims Director. He has had a distinguished career having held roles such as interim Senior Claims Manager (Global P&C) at SCOR, Head of Claims for the Eaton Gate MGU, and Claims & Products Director at CFC Underwriting.

Additionally, he spent eight years as Head of Casualty Claims & General Counsel at HCC International Insurance Company. Before his executive career, the executive practiced law at prominent firms such as Eversheds and CMS Cameron McKenna.
